Closing date for Youth Jamboree entries June 1st. Post entries will be accepted with $25 fee. Winners of WCAHA essay contest will be notified no later than June 10th.

June 17-21 at Clemson, SC will be the site of the 21st Region 12 Arabian Youth Jamboree. Kids from the 7 states of Region 12 will have the experience of their lives. The five days consists of clinics, seminars, contests, fun activities and a horse show.

Three days of free clinics are given by trainers and instructors from within Region 12 who donate their time to the youth. Clinics are given in all disciplines of horsemanship like Halter, Showmanship, Dressage, Hunter Over Fences, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Trail, English/Country Pleasure, and Equitation. Sport Horse Under Saddle and In Hand are also given.

Specialists hold the seminars on subjects such as “How to Fill Out an Entry Form”, How to Braid a Mane”, “Question and Answer With a Steward and Judges”, “What Is Dressage”, “How to Set Up a Dressage Ring”, and “How to Set Up a Trail Course”.

Contests are varied. They are Art, Essay, Poster, Horse Knowledge, etc. Fun classes held during the week are Stick Horse Races and other fun classes. The costume classes are always exciting. Kids start planning their costumes a year in advance.

It all culminates with a Class “C” show recognized by the Arabian Horse Association and the United States Equestrian Federation and held on Saturday and Sunday. Also on Saturday is an Open Show for clinic youth not entering the Class “C” Show.
