WCAHA's Futurity Program and All-Star Stallion Futurity Auction

The Western Carolinas Arabian Horse Association is a club that believes in providing programs and venues that help participants showcase and promote their Arabians and Arabian-crosses, and in some cases, the results of their breeding programs. In an effort to facilitate this commitment, WCAHA has maintained a Futurity program for more than 30 years—allowing nominated weanlings and yearlings to show and win paybacks at its annual November show.

More than 10 years ago, the club implemented an All-Star Stallion Futurity Auction to increase the number of entries and to build more lucrative Futurity paybacks by using monies obtained through stallion services purchased in the Auction. As a result, the club’s Futurity program has grown, and the auction, and ultimately, Western Carolinas AHA, has become well-known nationally among Arabian and half-Arabian breeders. Many of them have joined Western Carolinas in order to participate in the Futurity program as a way to promote their breeding programs.

The search for additions to an already well rounded group of stallions continues, and this year includes five main-ring National winners (both halter and performance, a multi-Champion Friesian, and a 3-time sport horse Sport Horse Nationals stallion. This Labor Day, WCAHA’s Futurity program will offer a total of 12 classes: eight judged using AHA’s scoring system, and four new sport horse in hand classes with these individuals judged on the triangle per the specifications put forth by USEF.

Western Carolinas’ Board invites you to consider all the All-Star Stallion Auction and WCAHA’s Futurity program have to offer, and join them in enjoying this wonderful Arabian breed.
